1.0.13 — the picture is the control

Loading media: one tap on the thing itself. The way to load a photo used to be a text link under it — “⬇ fetch original · 1.2 MB · not local yet” — eleven-point type between two pictures. Gone. Tap the picture, the poster, the waveform or the file card, and the same surface answers with a small glowing ring: turning while the relay is asked, breathing and dimmer while a sender is looked for, filling as the bytes land, gone when they are here. The message itself resonates faintly meanwhile. No spinner and no separate status line — the ring is the status, and the numbers stay under the card as the detail.

A tap is kept as a wish: a photo tapped before it was here opens the moment it is; a sound or a video tapped plays when it lands.

A late answer is still an answer. A holder that replied after the fetch had given up (two minutes of silence; a phone in the background answers on its own cadence) used to leave the projection saying “did not answer” while the chunks were visibly landing. Now the first chunk clears the verdict and the fetch resumes for the rest.

Also in this line since 1.0.11: “I moved” — a device that changes relays tells its peers at once, and a live device with no known route is guessed at every official relay (1.0.12).
