The app has its own typeface now. Quiet Signal is a wide, square-shouldered monoline grotesque with Latin and Cyrillic, drawn as skeletons and grown into two weights by the build — the same letter at a thinner stroke is the Regular, at a heavier one the Bold. It was sketched against the owner’s type studies, checked on a live stand and corrected by their eye twice in one night: apertures opened, the wide Cyrillic narrowed, the weights lightened, and one honest bug — every o, O, 0 and 8 had shipped as a solid dot — caught and fixed before it reached anyone.
Where you will see it. Where the app names things: a space’s name in the navigator, a panel’s title. Not in the body of a message and not in a post — a display face at reading sizes is a poster, not a paragraph, and the reading face stays what it is.
What it is not yet. Kerned, hinted, or italic. A text weight for paragraphs is a different typeface. The source — every letter as a few strokes — lives in the repository under tools/typeface, under the SIL Open Font License.
